Instructor Bio:
Karmen Wells is fiction editor, previously of HarperCollins Canada where she worked with authors like, Steven Hall, Jessica Westhead, Jeffrey Colvin and Dan Vyleta, now through Shelf-Made Creative Services where she specializes in substantive/developmental edits for novels and screenplays. Karmen left the corporate world five years ago to work with horror writers and screenwriters and slowly infiltrated the talented indie horror community, editing for the authors like Gemma Amor, Laurel Hightower, Hailey Piper, Eric LaRocca, Cynthia Pelayo, Jamie Flanagan, Daniel Barnett, V. Castro, Tim McGregor, and more, plus many self-published, spec and prospective writers. Up until recently, she also spent four years running the book-to-screen division for a literary agency where she sold and pitched adaptation rights to producers/studios/filmmakers. Karmen lives nowhere in particular and works while she travels.
